The Arun Family Story

My son is 18 years old and has been attending Inclusive World (IW) classes, job opportunities, and other IW events for many years now. The kind of experience he gets at IW is unique and, true to its name, fully inclusive. The attention to detail and organized curriculum that IW puts together makes every moment spent in the class thoroughly enjoyable. The teachers are incredibly kind and encouraging, which builds confidence and a “can do” attitude in the students. I cannot praise the volunteers enough. The young and energetic volunteers show acceptance as well as belief in the student’s abilities and this is a testament to the training that IW has provided to them. What makes IW extraordinary is the Person Centered Thinking concept that is worked into every interaction. By knowing each student’s needs personally, teachers and volunteers are able to tailor the classwork to match the interests of the student and motivate the students. My son always looks forward to the IW events and to interacting with the teachers and peer volunteers. He has become more confident, creative, relaxed, and social because of the opportunities provided at IW. IW events such as the year-end parties are a blast and give students the opportunity to simply have fun in a safe environment. We are incredibly thankful to IW organizers and volunteers!

The Rucha Desai Family Story

I am a volunteer who joined Inclusive World 5 years ago with my daughter. I would just stay with her while she was a volunteer buddy in the arts and craft class. I started helping the teachers and last year I became an assistant teacher. A year later my younger daughter also joined inclusive World as a buddy volunteer in the same class. Being a part of the class is very rewarding and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. It is truly fulfilling working with differently abled teens and even making good connections with their parents. The classes have been online this year which is little challenging, however with the dedication of participants, families, volunteers we have been able to continue strong. Inclusive World is part of our family and we look forward to continuing being part of it.

“I commend organizations that open doors to give a chance to the special needs young adults to stimulate them and to continue to challenge them by raising their level of expectations.  These young adults are internally very cognizant and it is our responsibility to facilitate their environment to help them reach their maximum potential.”  – Parent

Seasonal jobs “Well coordinated by IW, Srivatsan learnt assembly line type of work and time allotted was sufficient to complete the task.” – Parent

“Skills such as hand eye coordination, problem solving and focusing were learnt and we also got left-right integration movement in by making the hands cross for each lid. Yes, it was about 15 hours of free therapy:) ” – Parent
